The Editorial Team at Everyday Insight Post

Last updated: October 21, 2026

Behind the credit under each headline sits one small desk. It answers for everything that appears in Everyday Insight Post.

What the desk takes care of

  • Finding the ordinary moment a piece will begin from.
  • Reading the CDC, FDA, NIH, NIOSH, HHS and MedlinePlus pages that bear on it.
  • Writing and editing in plain language, with the sources listed at the foot of the piece.
  • Choosing the illustration and writing its caption and alt text.
  • Reading mail and keeping the Corrections Log current.

How a piece moves through the desk

  1. Scene. One everyday moment is picked: a counter, a path, a desk at noon.
  2. Pages. The agency pages that speak to it are read in full. PubMed is used when a study needs to be looked at directly.
  3. Draft. The piece is written. Drafting software may help with an outline or a rough pass, and what it produces is never cited.
  4. Read-through. An editor compares each line with the pages cited and deletes whatever they do not support.
  5. After publication. Reader mail is read, and fixes are logged and dated.

Where the desk stops

The desk edits a magazine, not a practice. It cannot judge a symptom, a lab result or a prescription, and it does not pretend to. Readers with those questions should speak to a licensed clinician, and anyone facing an emergency should phone 911.

Getting in touch

Mail for the desk can go to contact@everydayinsightpost.com or through Contact. The credit line is covered on Who Writes the Pieces, and About Everyday Insight Post introduces the publisher.
